6 of 8 | LIVE CHAT FOR SCHOOL MARKETING

Connecting with prospective families is vital to your recruitment efforts. By providing a channel of easy communication with live chat, they’ll be more likely to engage with your website, leading to more tours booked.

As the stats reveal, people are communicating this way more and more:

• 63% of people are messaging more than they did two years ago.
• 80% of adults use messaging apps every day.
• 53% of people are more likely to shop with a business they can message.

Facebook Messenger is a free chat tool that comes with your Facebook account. The guest chatting with you doesn’t need a Facebook account to use it, so it works for everybody.

There is a bit of technical work involved, but it’s well worth it. If you’re not able to add it yourself, talk with your webmaster about it. Messenger has a plug-in for WordPress to make it easier.

If you are not using WordPress or a similar CMS, you can add Messenger to your site using a script. This is a little more involved, so you may need help from your webmaster.

Be sure Messenger is staffed on a regular basis because people will be expecting a response. If you don’t anticipate being able to reply quickly, you can set your response time to say, “Typically replies within a day,” so that people don’t expect an immediate reply.

Frustrated that you can’t add Messenger to your website because it’s too limited or your website guru never has time to do things like this? Check out Gradelink’s professional website packages. We make beautiful sites that are personalized for your school and easy to maintain.
